Jordan Eaker won the Holley Never Rest Award at the Cornwell Quality Tires NHRA U.S. Nationals after a tireless thrash to replace a broken engine.
Eaker, a major in the United States Air Force, flew his Racecraft-built rail into the Right Trailers Top Dragster field on his opening pass with a 6.492 but broke the engine.
“We were able to find a replacement motor by midnight Friday and worked all day Saturday to get the car back together,” he explained. "Special thanks to Dad, Mary, Joe, Ernie, David, Sparky, Scott, Randy, and Laris Motorsports, we got a chance to race in the first round.”
